What Could Cause Oily Liquid Oozing From Scalp?

My daughter has a clear oily liquid oozing from her scalp. The area is tender to the touch, but there are no visible lesions or sores. She also has a headache, swollen lymph nodes, and is lethargic and says she is really hot, but has no fever. What could this be?

Hello,

Most likely she has a skin and soft tissue infection s suggested by pain, swelling and swollen regional lymph nodes..

suggest her an oral antibiotic e.g either amoxicillin or cephalexin for a few days. In addition I suggest an antiseptic solution e.g cetrimide 5% solution for head wash.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
