After going through your history, and examination findings by youf doctor, the nearest one can think of is some pathology related to the liver and gall bladder for which you have been advised by your doctor for an ultrasound abdomen. If I were your doctor, I would also advise you for a routine blood test like CBC, liver function tests, a serum amylase and a serum lipase. Till the reports of these investigations are ready, I would suggest you to go for a proton pump inhibitor, a probiotic and an antacid liquid apart from some antiseptic gargles for your sore throat. I would also advise you suck some kind of lozenges to counter the metallic taste in your mouth. Further management would depend on reports of the investigations.
