What Could Cause Lower Back Pain, Stomach Pain And Kidney Pain, Especially After Eating, In A 78-year-old?

I have lower back pain, stomach pain, and my kidneys ache, especially after eating. I live alone and try to eat healthy but I am a horrible cook. Also 78 years old but still pretty active and bicycle fit. Have had two heart eppisodes a few years ago but generally feel better now than then, other than the problem I just described. What may be the cause?

Hi,

The classic symptoms of primary hyperparathyroidism are described by the adage ‘bones, stones (renal) and abdominal groans (peptic ulcer)’. You should undergo investigation for hyperparathyroidism. The most discriminant investigation is the measurement of PTH.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
