What Could Cause Headaches In The Afternoon, Fever And Night Sweats In A 72-year-old?

I am an active, slim and health conscious 72 female. I ve been getting headaches in the afternoon to where 4, 200 mg. IBProfen are taken. The before I go to bed my bod becomes so chilled at 106 outside I sleep with a down comforter to finally quite shaking. The the (fever) breaks and I proceed to have awful night sweats. Feel fine in the am., then all starts again about 4pm. Any suggestions.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I would like to ask you some questions:

1. Since when this started?
2. Is there running nose, chest pain, cough?
3. What is your weight?
4. Do you feel heaviness in the face?
5. How is the headache, stabbing, throbbing, two-sided, one-sided, etc. I would like to suggest some tests:

1. CT sinuses
2. Complete Blood Tests
3. Head CT
4. ECG

With the tests results and answers, please post another question, so that, any doctor here can follow you up. Do not worry as you are under good treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dipan Samanta, General & Family Physician
