What Could Cause Episodes Of Memory Loss Like Not Remembering Getting To The Hotel?
Hi Doc! I am 68 y/o female. I was on a flight from Tampa Fl to Seattle, WA and when I got to the terminal, I can remember only parts of our greetings, can t remember getting in the car, don t remember getting to the hotel..........and I am missing quite a bit of the trip. It is a flash of memory here, there. It scares me out of my skin! Got any good ideas? I am NOT a drug user ( just the normal vitimins, etc) but sure am afraid to go out my door for fear I will have that experience again. XXXX

I would like to tell you that forgetfulness in elderly is very common as apart of aging but memory loss is not an inevitable and cant be treated if diagnosed at right time. As in your case, you are not able to remember about your trip it indicate towards symptoms of dementia.

considering your age the cause of short term memory loss may be Alzheimer's disease. you should consult a Geriatrician to confirm the diagnosis.
