What Could Cause Decreased Urine Output?

Recently I seem to pass not much urine. The flow is not strong also. I had a urine test at my dr's office last week and he said it was ok. However I failed to mention about the change in my urine output. What is normal for a 55 year old woman to urinate in a day?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Urination or urine output depends on amount of water intake, functioning of the bladder and hydration status. Unless you didn't experience any dehydration, abnormal urinary tract symptoms, like difficulty in urination , don't bother much.

Kindly take 3 to 4 liters of water daily and your urine output will become normal.

Regards.
