What Could Cause A Severe Backache Upon Deep Breathing?
My back hurts on the right side in the middle. When I take a deep breath it s like a stabbing pain. Started 2 days ago and got so bad yesterday I went to urgent care. U/A and chest rads all normal as well as vitals. I was given a shot of NSAID which helped but now the pain is back. I m not sure what it could be. I m normally very healthy. I don t get sick or hurt often at all.

Severe backache (sharp, intense) in the lower right side sometimes occurs due to appendicitis(inflamed appendix), inflamed, infected kidneys can also radiate such type of pain, spinal problems (degenerative discs, slipped discs, spinal stenosis, spondylolithiasis) or ulcerative colitis.
Get investigations done to screen out any actor causing you hurt and discomfort. Exercise if you are overweight, check the mattress in which you sleep, stop heavy weight lifting or slouching at the desk.
