What could cause a random pounding heart ?

what could cause a random pounding heart in a 17 year old? for the last couple of months i ve experienced probably 5-6 times a really fast, pounding heart when I haven t done anything. it feels like i ve just ran a marathon when i ve just been sitting. 3-4 of the times it s been when im just laying in bed trying to fall asleep. It seems strange to me especially becuase i m so young. I ve heard it s possible to be connected with anxiety, which I do struggle with. it doesn t last very long at all, maybe a minute and a half max. I am also short of breath when it happens. I ve also seemed to get worked up easier while running or doing activities, but i ve only noticed this happenign since i gave blood. a couple hrs after i had given blood i half-ran up the stairs [like i always do, i almost never walk up steps for some reason] and i was insanely out of breath when i got to the top. which i assumed had something to dow ith having given blood. and it s seemed to get a little better since then, but i ve never gotten back to normal where i can just run up the stairs without being out of breath at all. I don t smoke or anything like that. anyway. what I mostly wanted to know is if this could just be nothing or if I need to go to the dr or something ?

My son was going through this and was diagnosed with panic disorder and placed on medication. It's best to get checked out by your doctor.

Okay so I m a 15 year old girl and active with running( when it s cross country season but I m off right now) and on the skinny side weighing 95 pounds being 5 2 . I get these occasional (has happened about 8 or 9 times) heart discomfort so that when I breathe out kind of deeply there s a sharp pain near the bottom of my left lung near my heart. I think it has happened once or twice when I ate too much greasy food, when I laugh way too much, when I get over excited like when I played tennis the other day it occurred, and has randomly happened when I haven t done anything. These attacks last around 30mins to about a couple of hours. The worst case was when I still had it and went to bed and couldn t sleep on my left side because every time my heart beat there was once again a sharp pain but it was gone in the morning. I m just wondering if this could turn out to be a serious problem or just random chest pains that young people get. Please don t answer if u have no clue b/c it s a waste.

I've had many CAT scans and heart moniters in the past to find out if there are any coronary issues. All thats been found is SVT. Sometimes it's better than others but on a more frequent basis my heart seems to pound pretty hard. The actual lub beat feels like it's going to pound out of my chest and I'm just sitting down. Many times this leads to panic and shortness of breath. I've been told there is nothing I can do about it. Does this mean I have a higher probability of heart failure? How can I control my heart pace? Are there any techniques other than breath control?

My daughter was in the hospital this week with blood pressure 200/148. she was there for two days and they sent her home with 148/98. She was taking 10 mg lisinopril and said to take two. She has monitored her blood pressure and the lower number keeps going up. It is now 148/119. She has no chest pains, shortness of breath, etc. They said the high pressure was due to a combination of meds particularly with phenylephrine. She also takes Keppra and Flonaise.
Does she need to go to emergency or can she wait to see if her blood pressure stablizes. thank you.

My daughter is 32 weeks pregnant. For the past couple of weeks, she has been experiencing shortness of breath, chest/rib pain and feeling really tired. Yesterday it was discovered she has a heart murmur. She has never had cardiac problems up to now. She was told to go home and "just lay around and do nothing" until an echo can be done next week to determine how strong her heart is at this time. How dangerous is this condition to her and the baby?

I'm 33 years old with low blood pressure every time I get it checked. The low blood pressure has been going on for years. I just thought I normally have low blood pressure. It was 92/50 las time it was checked. I am 5'2" 165lbs. I gained 15lbs with my pregnancy. My delivery lasted 33 hours and was very stressful. I have loridosis, back pain, heat sensations in my left leg, chest pain and shortness of breath. I just recently went to get checked out by the doctor about dizzy spells and my heart stopping and rapidly starting back. I was diagnosed with RBBB. I'm really scared, because I can feel that my heart is not working like it should. I have a lot of stress with family matters and I would say since I was 13 I've had ongoing high anxiety. I know that is not healthy. What would you say are the reasons that I have RBBB.
