What would cause a babys penis to bruise.. It looked a little discolored in the morning but grew progressively worse during the day.. Nothing unusual happened to him at all during the day.. This is his grandma and I had him all day... I held him most of the day also...???

From history it seems that there might be having diaper rash or something bite on the part.
Nothing to worry, clean the part and apply some moisturizing cream or antihistamine cream.
Change diaper regularly and keep local part dry.
