What Could Blood Stain Post Urination With Back Pain Suggest?

My Mom is going to be 69 in March. After she urinates, and wipes. She has bright red blood on the toilet paper. She has no lower back pain, indicating a kidney infection. Nor does she suffer from pain on urination. Why is she spotting? Thank you

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As per my clinical experience, the blood stain post urination can be from urinary infection, calculus in the urinary system or others.

I recommend to undergo a urine microscopy, ultrasound examination for proper diagnosis and manage accordingly.

Thank you.

Regards.
