What Could Be The Swollen Thing In The Groin Area?

yes please, I know of a male who has a swollen thing came up in his groin area. It almost looks like a ligament under the skin. but it is not. it also looks like my finger almost as long and round that kind of shape. doesn t hurt but tighten the skin around when he showed it made it tender then a few days it disappears. he said it has came back up and left again. can this be serious? thanks!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
A swelling under the skin of groin, painful when pressed,& disappearing in between- suggests,
- recurrent inguinal lymph node swelling, being due to some infection in pelvic area ,genitals, thighs,,legs, feet.
- It can be an inguinal hernia in .early stage.
To avoid enlargement & complications,/ infection He should consult a surgeon ,get it diagnosed & treated.
Thanks
