What Could Be The Reason For Tightness And Hard To Breath?

I am a 57 yr old woman..I have been feeling since thrus evening tightness in the chest. It feels like someone is sitting on my chest. I feel it up to the throat. I did go to urgent care march 30th and was told i had the flu was given Tamiflu but this chest issue started so i returned then was given another anti botic. The tightness and shortness of breathe continues. I dont know what to do. could this just be due to the flu and I should give it more time? When they checked me the doctor said the lungs are clear. so why the pain like a rubber band around the chest and upper back. I did also have spine surgery on 9/25/13. Two rods were put for the spine and i had 4 bad disc and nerve damage too. My concern is tightness and hard to breathe. as if I was running miles

Hello dear, thanks for your question on HCM.
I can understand your situation and problem.
In my opinion you should consult pulmonologist and get done PFT (Pulmonary Function Test) to rule out bronchitis.
There is high possibility of bronchitis in your case because of chest tightness, breathing difficulty and not improving with antibiotics.
PFT is must for the diagnosis of bronchitis.
It will also tell you about severity of the disease.
And treatment of bronchitis is based on severity only.
So get done PFT.
You may need inhaled bronchodilators and antihistamines drugs.
Don't worry, you will be alright.
