What Could Be The Reason For Throat Irritation ?

hello im 19 and just got over a cold that involved a sore throat but now one side of my throat is very sore not like the typical sore throat but its swelled up only on one side and is very very painful to swallow Im not running a fever or feel tired What could it be

from the history that you have given and the symptoms you are experiencing i suggest you consult an ent specialist as you have developed a peritonsillar abscess also called quinsy and it needs incision and drainage with antibiotics later on.

it may be tonsillitis and those swelled up structures may be lymph nodes or tonsillar abscess. you may

need course of antibiotics,decongestants and paracetamol if fever is there. but better to consult an ent surgeon so that diagnosis can be confirmed.maintain proper hydration of body by taking sufficient fluid.take care
