What Could Be The Reason For Recurrent Sore Throat?

hi, I have a sore throat for over a week now. It s on and off like sometimes it goes away for a day and comes back. I am not sure what is causing this. i have no other symptoms and no coughing. When i looked in the mirror today i saw a red bump on the left side of throat. I think there were small little red bumps in the way back but i couldn t see there clearly. What could this be?
