What Could Be The Reason For Having A Bald Spot In My Head? How To Get Rid Of It?

My teenager has a bald spot in his head and his pediatrician says its not a ringworm. The bald spot appeared after trying on several helmets during football season. What do you think the diagnoses is and how can I get his hair to grow back still after two months?

Hi. Thanks for posting your concern at HCM

I would keep a possibility of Alopecia areata. I would advice that you see a dermatologist for a confirmatory diagnosis. Various treatment options available in children are:
-Minoxidil solution
-Topical steroid
-Intralesional Steroid
-Topical Anthralin.

All of them have good efficacy in this kind of hair loss. Your dermatologist might prescribe a topical lotion or topical cream depending upon his/her experience with the usage.

take care
regards
