What Could Be The Reason For Dizziness While Leaning?

Hello! I started getting really dizzy one morning every time I moved. Then, throughout the day and into the next 2 following days, it went to ONLY the left side. Now when I lean my head to the left, lay my head down to the left side or lean my head back to get something out of the cabinets or take a shower, ect. What could this be?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, thank you for posting.

I have gone through your query and I understand your concerns.

All your symptoms are suggestive to neck arthritis. Neck arthritis is a rheumatic process that affects neck vertebrae, by causing pressure to nerves of neck.
This disease is manifested with dizziness, numbness, neck pain, tiredness and loss of balance.
Physical exercises and massage are recommended.
To treat neck arthritis anti inflammatory non steroidal medicines and Cinnarizine are used.

To confirm the diagnosis you need:
1. Neck X-ray.
2. Complete blood count.
3. Glucose test.
4. Urine test.

Consult your neurologist to discuss about the treatment.

Let me know if this answer is helpful.

Regards.
Dr. Behar.
