ENT Specialist Dr. Naveen Kumar's  Response
Hi,

Welcome to HealthcareMagic Forum,
The burning sensation around the ear can be a neuralgic pain, probably trigeminal neuralgia. Your father needs a thorough examination by an ENT specialist/a neurologist.

I have bad allergies and often get ear pain that will subside if I take Aleve-D and wait a few hours. However, I have taken the Aleve-D for two days and my left ear is still sore. It hurts when I touch the back of my left oracle and it feels hot inside my ear (burning sensation). Do you have any idea what this could be?

My 56 yr old husband is experiencing A burning sensation in his left ear with a feeling of stabbing pain in the ear along with pressure. Ache/pain all the time but grows intense at varying intervals during the day and cannot lay on the side of pain. Also experiencing severe periodic headache in area near temple close to top of ear. This has been ongoing for up to 7 weeks. He has seen MD which referred us to an ENT which shows no ear problem at all. Mild to moderate hearing loss but this has been years oncoming due to job environment, so we suspect. ENT suggested Another visit in 4 weeks if doesn t get better and then an MRI. Chiropractor adjusted jaw for slight misalignment but he has had no signs of TMJ at all. Went to the dentist had X-rays but they show nothing as well. Can you help shed a light on what could possibly be going on? Should we be seeing a neurologist or a different specialist? Thank you for any help you can give.

Yesterday I started my period. White sitting I started having discomfort in my left side (mid-abdomen, toward the front) which gradually became an intense pain. I went home to lie down, intent to visit the ER if the pain got any worse or didn't stop within an hour (it had been about 30 minutes total). When I lay down, the pain dissipated and hasn't returned. However, today I'm having some sharp, stabbing pains in my urethra, enough to wake me. There isn't any burning when I pee, just a stabbing/stinging sensation every so often. I've considered everything from kidney stones to muscle spasms.

I'm 30 yrs old, never pregnant, 260lbs @ 5'5" tall. I suffer from panic attacks and anxiety disorder due to a previous misdiagnosis of intracranial hypertension and a bad reaction to Topamax. Neurologist now thinks I possible occipital neuralgia coupled with migraines and TMJ. I had taken cyclobenzaprine the night prior to the intense side pain under doctor's orders to treat the TMJ.
