What Could Be The Reason For FBS To Be Higher Than PPBS Considering Being On Medication For Hypertension?

my fasting sugar levels are 82 but my pp levels are 80. i am 54 yrs old and have no prior history of abnormal readings. i test every 4 months and it ranges 80-94 to 85 105. however i am a patient of hypertension and under medication since last 20 years. i had 50 mg of amtas before giving fasting sample

hi, it depends on the way your body metabolizes the food you take. In a healthy adult, it may happen when he takes high carbohydrate diet during nights than during day time. fasting sugar is mainly dependent on how much your liver releases glucose whereas pp depends on the glucose released from gut. local factors like a diseased gut, malabsorption in gut that hampers breakdown of carbohydrate may result in low pp levels.
