What Could Be The Maximum Dosage Of Lantus To Be Taken In A Day?
Hello, I am a Type 2 diabetic, 65 years old, diagnosed 10 years ago, kept blood sugar reasonably under control with pills until this year, when my doctor prescribed Lantus, which I have been taking for a month now. Suggested starting dose is 10 units at bedtime, doc said I could increase to 20 if necessary. Initial response has been good, numbers are well down compared to pills alone. Readings still increase towards end of day. My question is what is maximum dose and is 20 units the limit? Thanks, Andy

I really appreciate your concern, anti-diabetes or sugar lowering medicines either it is oral or parenteral the dose of these are depends upon the blood glucose level and it is not fix criteria for this, some time in some patients glucose level control in very small dose and in some patient both oral and injectable needed in higher dose, hope this helps, take care and have a nice day.
