Yesterday I had outpatient surgery. I was told that I would probably experience a sore throat from the tube. It was indeed very sore, but what's worse is that my uvula is doing this freaky thing, and this is going to sound gross, but it feels like something hanging down my throat which triggers a urge to try to "hack it out". I have never been able to hack up or out stuff that drains down my throat. It felt sorta like a piece of skin half way stuck and half way loose. My husband looked in there and said that the uvula just looks red as well as my throat but it feels torn. If it is torn, will it heal? I of course have antibiotics from surgery and I read that it will help with infection, but how can that fix a tear if it is torn. I go back to doctor on Mon, but wondered if I need to be seen before then. Thanks!
