What Could Be The Cause Of Itching On Left Side Of Face Along With Jaw Line?

Symptoms: unilateral itching and hives on left side of face along the jaw line. I have been told I have ocular migraine. Can the trigeminal nerve cause itching on one side of the face and is it related to migraine? Or, what else could be causing this? It has been an on and off thing for several years.

Hello,

Trigeminal Neuralgia may cause unilateral facial pain, swelling or itching. Nerve disorders trigger a migraine.

You are suggested to visit ER get physically examined & get done all investigations like (CT/MRI) at the earliest. You need antihistamines & corticosteroids.

In severe cases, your treating doctor may prescribe anticonvulsants.

To get relief from the pain you can take Baclofen when needed.

If symptoms respond to the treatment by oral medications you may not need surgery.
