What could be the cause of 2 periods in a month for one having irregular periods ?

I am 23 years old 200 lbs and 5 feet. I have irregular periods, sometimes I dont have them for 3 months. I have my period from April 30th to May 12th. I just got my period again yesterday May 22nd. Is there somthing wrong.

welcome to you are on the overweight side there will be also accompanying menstrual changes.i advise you to have a ultrasound scan of the pelvis done to see Ovaries in particular-to look for polycystic ovaries,if present you will have to take appropriate treatment.Also get your thyroid,blood proflile done.Take care.
