What Could Be The Cause For Prolonged Menstrual Flow In An Obese Woman?

Hi Dr. XXXX, I have been having my menstruation everyday almost for the past 7 years. I have been to several doctors and have not been diagnose and because I m extremely obese they tell that a sonogram will not be accurate. Please help me understand what s happening to me.

Hi,

Problems with ovarian or thyroid gland hormones can cause such bleeding. It can be assessed by estimating blood levels of these hormones. MRI / CT scan can provide interior of the abdomen and glands / uterus to give guide lines for diagnosis. Knowing exact cause would help in specific management of problem and relief.
