What Could Be Severe Cough In A 8 Months Old Child While No Relief With Zyrtec,Levolin,Monocef,Asthalin,Omnacortil?

My 8 month old son is suffering from cough for last 3 weeks. He was given Zyrtec and Levolin for 5 days. Since the cough did not subside he was given the antibiotic Monocef O -100 and Asthalin for 7 days. His cough did not go and now he is given Omnacortil for 5 days and Asthalin. Doctor told that since Omnacortil is steroid must be given for a max of only 5 days. Today is the fourth day and his cough has not yet subsided. Should we go for further tests? Which other mediccation will be safe for my child?

The persistent cough could be because of the following

1. Persistent Hyperactivity of the airway.
2. Pertussis
3. Laryngotracheal reflux

u would suggest you to discuss these possibility with your Pediatrician.
