What Could Be Done For The Attack Of TIA And Pressure Behind The Head And Eyes?

I recently had a TIA, and for months I have had a headache. I had a radio frequency about 2 /1/2 months ago and it helped a bit with my headache but it came back and still not gone. Mostly across forehead and behind eyes and there is a pressure and then other times it comes from my neck and up the back of my head and goes into my shoulders. On a pain scale it ranges from a 3-4 to an 8. Any idea s? what should I do my docs says if it is bad again go to the ER. But serouisly what are they going to do. Tell me to check back with my family doctor? Linda

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

TIA is not related to headaches, if the diagnosis of TIA was correct, meaning you had imaging tests which excluded stroke or other brain lesions then headache is not related to TIA. Judging by your description the most likely cause would be tension type headache. It is the most common cause of headache, often triggered by stress (so indirectly the stress you've experienced may contribute to it). I don't see any need to go to the ER. You should visit your family doctor to make sure there aren't any other signs you might have missed. If no other signs are found than preventive treatment with Amitriptyline may be considered.

I hope to have been of help.
