What Could Be Cause Of Severe Tummy Pains With Positive HPT Result?

Hi. My period was due a week ago and having done a home pregnancy test and came out positive. The issue is that I have been having severe tummy pains, just above the pelvis. Went to have a poop earlier and the pain was just extreme. What could be the cause please?

Hello, I would be happy to help you with your question.

If you had a positive pregnancy test, then you are pregnant. Pain during early pregnancy where you describe might simply be related to a bladder infection. It is important, though, to evaluate the pregnancy and make sure that it is in the uterus and not in the tube. Ectopic pregnancies begin to present at this point with pelvic pain that tends to be more one side than the other. Call your doctor immediately for a visit.

I hope that this helps and good luck!
