What Could A Scab On The Head, That Bleeds When Picked, Indicate?

my husband has a small black scab at the top of his head and when he picks it it bleeds and looks like a piece of meat coming off with the scab and its very small has been there for about 3 months and when he picks it,it stays there.and it gets bigger

Scab on removal if bleeds and is for 3 months, that part of the skin should be sent for biopsy to rule out skin cancer. Consult oncosurgeon for the same.
