Hi... My daughter is 12 years old. We discovered about a week ago that she has a spot on her scalp about the length of my upper thumb. This spot has a yellowish liquidy texture and she nor I have any idea what it could be. Its not itchy or flaky and its just liquidy and wet when you touch it. She told me that to relieve pain she pulled out the hair on that particular spot and she doesnt anymore but we wanna know what this is.
The yellow spots could be a manifestations of seborrheic dermatitis which is also commonly known as dandruff. The conditions respond to a ketoconazole shampoo.Topical steroid can also be applied for a short time to reduce inflammation.
