Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query your child have symptoms of yellowish eye discharge and runny nose which is due to bacterial infection leading to strep throat. It could be due to sinusitis.

Need not to panic about it. I would suggest you to take Diphenhydramine and Dextromethorphan. You should take steam inhalation. Visit pediatrician once and get it examined and start treatment after proper diagnosis. You should avoid cold carbonated beverages. Do warm saline gargles 3 to 4 times a day. You should take you take nasal decongestant sprays, antihistamines and antibiotic combination as infection is present. Drink lukewarm water throughout the day as it can provide relief. Take soft foods to avoid irritation to the throat. Throat lozenges is very helpful for you.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
