What Causes Yellowish Coating And Irritation On Tongue?

My tounge has yellow coating and tip feels burnt and irritated and now have small round sore on my gum in front. I have chewed tobacco for years but had quit for awhile then started again shortly until these problems occurred. My doc couldn t find anything in her knowledge or computer that matched my symptoms so I m left wondering what is wrong and fearing the worst

Chewing tobacco has similar effects on the mouth as cigarette smoking has on the lungs. These could be signs of inflammation or cellular changes induced by the tobacco. Stop chewing tobacco and see if this goes away soon. Otherwise see an oral surgeon or dentist and get that sore (and maybe your tongue) biopsied to be sure it isn't pre-cancer or early cancer. Hope this helps.
