What Causes Yeast Infection Inside The Mouth?

just went to a walk in clinic with symptoms of severe sore throat, ear ache and stuffy nose. They did a strep test which was negative and a blood test which they said was normal. A test for yeast in my throat was positive. I have some white patches in my very red and inflammed throat. I was prescribed clotrimazole 10mg 5x daily for 14 days. Never heard of yeast infection in my mouth. Sure feels like I have the flu. Can you give me some insight into thrush. I am almost 60 years old and am in good health (I thought)

If you have not done the blood sugar test then it is advisable to get it done, if this comes in normal range then second you need to see the dentist, till the you can try some vitamin supplement with folic acid, oral mouth application with salicylic acid and local anesthetic may be helpful, hope this information helps, take care.
