For ther past two months I am experiencing a condition where I can hear a whooshing sound in both my ears when I lie down to sleep. If I wake in the night it can keep me awake as I seem to be aware of it. What can it be. I am 48, 5.4 and around 9 stone and have a slightly high cholestorol.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain whooshing sounds in ears seems to be due to a number of causes like excess ear wax accumulation, perforated eardrum, Eustachian tube dysfunction, fluid accumulation behind eardrum, Meniere's disease.. I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like Otoscopic examination, MRI scan, Audioetry etc can help in diagnosis and treatment can be planned accordingly.. You can be advised the treatment according to the cause as the treatment may vary drastically depending upon the underlying cause.
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
