Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
For the past few days I have had white spots on my left tonsil and swollen glands in the left side of my neck. I went to the doctor and was tested negatively for strep, but my symptoms are not going away. I also now have large red/purple veins appearing along the back of my throats and tonsils. No fever, but extreme fatigue and body aches. Should I be more concerned and return to the doctor, or is this just a virus that will pass on its own?
It would have been better of you mentioned about the medication given by your doctor.
Anyway according to the information and the fact that you noticed white spots in the tonsils make it more likely a bacterial rather than just a viral infection.
Since you feel extremely fatigue and muscle pain I would recommend you to immediately go and meet your doctor again to reexamine you and run some blood tests. He might need to change the antibiotics or run some further tests.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Kushan Thennakoon,
General & Family Physician
