What Causes White Spots In Tongue With Ear Infection?

My son was diagnosed with a double ear infection on Friday night and given Amoxicillin. I took him back to the doctor on Monday and the doctor said his ear infection is gone but he now has an inflammed, red, throat and a fever has shown up. I took him to the emergency room on Monday night and they said his ear infection is gone, his red throat is gone and he thinks it s teething. I have been giving him 1.25ml of infant Motrin every three hours. I felt like he was getting better, but this morning he has a 100.4 fever and is inconsolable. I am now also seeing three white spots on his tongue and his cheeks are swollen. What could it be?

hello

thank you for trusting HCM

dear it is difficult to say until unless examine the oral cavity. white spots in infant may be due to oral candidiasis. infection may accure during delivery through birth canal or some people think thrush can also be caused by sucking on a bottle or pacifier for an extended period of time. any way please consult your doctor he will examine and treat your baby accordingly. I think I answered to your question if you have more questions feel free to ask.

take care
