What Causes White Coat On The Tongue With Tingling Sensation?

After taking 8 rounds of antibiotics during a period of a year and a half I started to develop symptoms that I found on alternative care sights describing systematic candida. After wearing the same size for over 10 years I gained 2 dress sizes in less then a year, I had oral thrush, 2 yeast infections, foggy brain and an increase in mucous. My husband also got thrush and a penile infection; i believe he caught from me. We both went on that crazy anti-candida diet, took grapefruit seed extract, oregano oil and garlic and took probiotics for 3 months. Most of our symptoms have cleared. However, my tongue still has a thin white coat every morning and evening that brushes off easily, the tip of my tongue has a tingling/burning sensation and I see increased mucous when I eat things with surgar such as soda and wheat such as bread with gluten. In your opinion have I treated my candida? What could be the cause of lingering symptoms?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain as you already had symptoms of yeast infection which has cleared considerably the symptoms of white coating over the tongue seems to be due to oral thrush only that is candida infection and you need to take anti-fungal medicines like Nystatin mouthwash, clotrimazole lozenges and continue taking probiotics like yoghurt and garglic..
Avoid anti-microbial mouthwash and drink plenty of water..
For soreness and burning of the tongue that is also secondary to infection you can gargle with a numbing mouthwash, suck ice and avoid spicy food..
Gradually the coating will start resolving..
In case of no resolution, consult an oral physician and he can advise you oral antifungals like Fluconazole or Itraconazole..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
