Hello,

Earlier today I had about 5 pieces of small dry roasted macadamia nuts and powdered donuts, 5-10 minutes later my tongue started to feel scratchy and bumpy. I looked in the mirror and i see white bumps on the back of my tongue. my tongue feels burned but not really.

Hi..
Welcome to HCM..

So sorry to hear about your problem and will try my level best to relieve your symptoms..

As per your complain it seems that the symptoms scratchy and bumpy feeling of the tongue along with white bumps at the back of tongue and burnt feeling just 5 to 10 minutes after eating certain foods seems to be most probably due to Apthous Stomatits or inflammation inside the mouth that is caused due to allergic reaction to the foods that you have taken..

The white bums at the back of the tongue can be inflamed Circumvallate Papillae that gets swollen and inflamed due to allergic reaction..

I would suggest you to gargle with 1:1 solution of milk of magnesia and benadryl..
You can also gargle with numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine if there is burning sensation..
Take anti allergics like levocetrizine if symptoms are severe otherwise gargling is enough..
Suck ice pops..

In case of recurring symptoms with certain foods get an allergic test done to rule out the exact causes of the reaction and avoid consuming those foods..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
