What Causes Weird Sensation In Abdomen Along With Mild Headaches?

Hi, I have this strange feeling on the right side of my abdomen, not painful, almost like a gap like something is missing with a numbness. It spans from my side to about 2 from my bellybutton and right beneath my rib cage to waist. I don t know how else to describe it because I ve never felt anything like this before. There is no discoloration around the area, I do not have a fever, I have a slight headache but that s about all that seems different. I don t know what to do as I make very little money and I m not sure I want to find out how much it will cost to find out what s going on so I will have to spend more money I don t have. I m worried and have know idea what to do.

Hello, i understand your concern and would like to address your problem based on information you have provided.
1. As you have mentioned, you have feeling of emptiness in the right side of your abdomen with numbness. This can point towards neurological causes ļike peripheral neuropathy or centrally spinal cord sensory roots involvement. As you said, you have no other symptoms so taking that into account, i am ruling out Gastrointestinal tract involvement and focussing on nerve involvement. In my clinic, in sùch cases, i would first like to rule out gastrointestinal tract involvement by making sure if you have abdominal pain, diarrhoea, buŕning sensation ñear epigastrium, constipation, discolouration òf stool and by complete per abdominal examination to determine whether Ultrasound abdomen is necessary and if you have any of other symptoms, you should get ultrasound abdomen done to rule out any visceral organ involvement. only after that we would focus on neural causes.

2. About the headache you are experiencing with the aforesaid symptoms, i do not have any reason to cinsider two linked, based on the information provided by you. But, if i am to see patient with headache in my clinic, i would like to know more about headache beforw commenting on it.
Is it continous or intermittent?
Is it at the start of day or in the evening?
Does your work involve spending more time in front of computers?
Any eye strain?
Exact localisation of headache?
Has it started with the abdominal problem?

After answers to above question , we can comment on headache. There is an infection where you get Central nervous system and gastrointestinal tract involvement called legionnaires disease but we can rule that out assuming lack of fever.

3. About you mentioning not having much money, i would like to say that you should visit a physician and before consenting for any investigation, you would be informed about the cost involved for you to decide.

I hope this answers your questions and do not hesitate to write back if you have any further questions, i wish you well.
