What Causes Weight Gain Post A Colon Resection Surgery?

I was told by my PC Physician that after a colon resection due to diverticulitis, I would likely be able to affect some weight loss. the opposite seems to be happening as I am two months past the surgery and have exceeded my original weight by about 5 to 7 pounds. Could this be temporary?

Usually weight loss is seen after colon resection surgery. So your weight gain needs investigations total find out the cause for this. So get done lipid profile, thyroid function test, diabetes check-up, hormone levels, etc.
