General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Weight gain is common in pregnancy, However, other causes like hypothyroidism( low thyroid hormones) and diabetes must be ruled out.

You can go for a thyroid function test (TFT) to check the hormonal status. If you are hypothyroid, hormonal supplements must be started.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
