What causes weight gain and insomnia in a 76-year-old?

I am 76 yrs old and have trouble sleeping, I am gaining weight and cannot lose weight even though I watch my diet and exercise. I have never had a weight problem but this past year I have gained for no reason and can t seem to take it off. I have had a complete hysterectomy and my friend thought I needed progesterone. Can you maybe have an answer.

I m 20 years old (female) I ve been having issues getting to sleep, staying asleep through the night, and then waking up in the matter how long I sleep I m still exhausted. My anxiety has worsened (10x worse) in the last couple months, I get EVERY illness that I halfway come in contact with, I rarely feel like eating, and despite not being able to eat much and exercising more than usual I am still gaining weight (mostly in my midsection) it doesn t make sense...any time before this I would have lost weight at an unhealthy rate from the way I am right now but instead I m slowly gaining... Pluz (not sure if its related at all) I have eczema that seems to be spreading and my face is breaking out like crazy and even when i was 16 i didnt have much of a problem with acne.

I basically stopped sleeping 50 yrs ago as a teenager. I have been treated for depression, bi-polar, low seratonin levels, breast cancer, IBS/constipation, weight gain (can t lose), low thyroid, and more! I have tried every OTC medication (100 mg Melatonin did nothing, even Cannabis oil), in addition to every old and new drug my drs could throw at me... I have all the sypmtoms of a melatonin deficiency, and was advised to get a pharmaceuitcal grade melatonin from a compounding pharmacy. In speaking with the pharmacist, he couldn t even tell me the difference between OTC and pharma grade. My doctor didn t know if there is a test for melatonin deficiency. The pharmacist told me to find a specialist who can treat hormonal imbalance which I think is also responsible for sleep disorders.
