What Causes Weight Gain And Chest Pain After Quitting Smoking?

I quit smoking after 34 yrs, 6 months ago but now I have gained 30lbs, I have been having episodes of chest pains and not being able to breath real well, and really bad pains in my left side it feels like something is strangling my insides or like a charley horse. can just getting fat cause all of the burning pain plus 3 months of crampimg and heart burn?

I understand your question.
* All of your breathing & chest problems are due to hazards of smoking for 35 years.smoking causes changes in air way/lung tissue & causes bronchitis. You should get yourself examined by a chest physician. Undertake all investigations advised by him( CBC, X ray chest, respiratory function tests, sputum examination-)
After this a specific treatment will be advised ,this will relieve you.
* As far as the weight gain is concerned withdrawal symptoms of cigarette smoking lead to increased food carvings, specially for sweets.
You should try to control it by having a low caloric diet & exercises.
