What Causes Weakness In The Hip After A Total Hip Replacement?

Yes, I am just 90 days post op myseond THR . This time on my left hip, it is so week. I stayed in an out patient facility for 12 days and had physical therapy at home 2x a week for 3 weeks. I have fibromyalgia also. Can the fibromyalgia hind my recovery?

Hi, Its 3 months since your surgery and by now you should be quite active. Fibromyalgia and degenerative joint conditions like osteoarthritis can delay recovery as muscles around the joint are already weak and more effort is required to get good muscle strength.
You may try for a more intensive physical therapy for a month more and then taper off. Long acting paracetamol tabs or intermittent use of celecoxib with a muscle relaxant will help to control the pain.
Hydrotherapy will be a good option for you esp in a heated pool
