What Causes Weakness, Dizziness And Lethargy After Taking Amiodarone And Diltiazem?

I am on diltiazem 180 mg 1/day and amiodarone 200 mg 1/day. I had my 2nd ablation for a-fib 1month ago. I am on this medication to control the heart rate during the 3month blanking period. I have had two episodes of a-fib during this 1month period. I converted without a cardioversion. My problem is that i feel drugged, weak, dizzy, and lethargic. Should I consider stopping this medication? Floyd Woods

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Of course, you should not stop the drugs because you had two episodes of atrial fibrillation in a month. You should get evaluated again doing an ECG and visit a cardiologist to change the drugs since you are feeling lethargic and dizzy.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
