What Causes Weakness And Lethargy After Stopping Medication For Parkinson S?

my husband has parkinsons. he has been prescribed losartan 100. He has been on if for about a week. He is feeling tired and worn out much more than before. He is on carbo levo dopa and has been for 5 years. he takes 6 of these daily 50/200 mg. The family doctor changed him from micardis 80. His neurologist is also aware of the change in meds. The only other he takes is a vitamin and aspirin daily. The parkinsons mainly affects his walking. But he is so tired now. Reading about this drug, it is one of the side effects. What are your thoughts. He is 78, still active but I get concerned over his care and the short time the doctors spend with him. Thank you.

Hi,
From your description, I can make out that your husband's medication is changed from Micardis(telmesartan) 80 to Losartan 100.
I am assuming that there is no change in carbo/levo usage.
Both losartan and micardis are antihypertensive medications and can be interchanged. If he problem of tiredness and weakness has begun only after Losartan was introduced, I would suggest you to go back to Micardis 80.
If there are any other issues apart from this, please make the changes according to your care givers advice.
Hope this helps. Thanks.
