What Causes Watery Vaginal Discharge With Itching And Odor Post Tampon Removal?

I had to have a tampon removed after it was stuck for 24 hrs a nurse removed it I have had two periods since but when u removed my tampon yesterday after this period it was very sore and red blood on one side ? I have watery discharge and a slight irony odour one side of my viginia feels a bit itchy and sore what could this be

It is possible that you may have an infection but it would be best to wait until your period is over to determine if this the case.

It would be difficult to assess with your menstrual cycle ongoing.

If the discharge persists after this time then a swab can be taken. It is possible that BV (bacterial vaginosis) may be present, this is the more common cause of a discharge with an odor.

This can be treated with topical or oral medications eg metronidazole, tinidazole
