What Causes Watery Stool, Abdominal Cramping And Nausea?
Having severe watery stools, abdominal pain/cramping, loss of appetite, mild nausea w/o vomiting of 4 days duration. Had a diagnostic colonoscopy 2 weeks prior to these symptoms and also was on keflex x 10 days prior to the colonoscopy for tx of an ingrown toenail. The colonoscopy showed ulcerative colitis which is a new finding. No obvious blood in stool. Could this be c diff?

I really appreciate your concern, beside the ulcerative colitis infection also needs to be rule out or else the condition can be managed with antibiotic and anti-protozoa contained like Ornidazole with Ofloxacine it can be tried for three days, it would be better to try PPI too like Omeprazole 40 mg once in day and it can be continued for at least four weeks hope this information helps.
