Dear Friend,

Whatever may be the condition, blood in the vomit is not a normal or usual event. You have to get it treated. This is usually due to increased acidity and/or ulcer in the stomach or initial part of intestines. Such high acidity may be the result of the iron tablets your wife must be taking. For few days stop all the medicines you are taking (except those which cannot be, your doctor will advise you about it). Let her take some proton pump inhibitor like Pantoprazole twice a day on empty stomach.

Have only bland diet (no coconut, please). Avoid nauseating food.

After the condition is brought under control, you will have to discontinue it otherwise it affects iron absorption. Then you may gradually start the other medicines. Please make sure that you start iron last, that too take only time released spansule form.

I hope this helps you.
