Hi, my 17 month old started throwing up this morning. The first 2times it was "curdy" like from the milk the night before. He hasn't eaten anything but I have given him water and sprite to keep him hydrated. He is drinking it well however he will throw it up almost immediately. He is not running a fever. He has been on omnicef for the past week for a double ear infection which he will be getting tubes in soon. Any help on why he might be throwing up so much? This is the first time he has thrown ip. Thank you
Hi Welcome to the healthcaremagic Most probable cause in your case could be 1) gastritis due to ongoing antibiotic 2) or new viral infection In both cases antiemetic like ondansetron will work.If vomiting persists then antibiotic will have to be changed. Sometimes due to bitter aftertaste of antibiotic ,they vomit. In such cases adding honey in it and giving part by part helps in many kids Happy to help you Best regards
