What Causes Vomiting After Taking Excerdin?

I take sertraline (zoloft, 200ml a day all at once) for anxiety. Recently I ve had an ongoing headache and taking Excedrin extras strength, and taken quite a bit, maybe 16 tablets in 2 days, also been using Orejel for a mouth sore. I also drink a lot of soda, and I took 3 more tables of Excedrin and it made me vomit almost immediately after taking it. Even though I had eaten about 8 hours ago, I vomited only what I took to take the pills, soda. It gave me a pretty big anxiety attack as I don t get sick much. Before today, the last time I had gotten sick and vomited was like 12 years ago. Should I be concerned of overdose? Age: 24 Height: 5 6 (maybe 5 7 ) Weight: 138 lbs I got Lyme disease when I was 13, a pretty advanced stage of it, also ammonia when I was about 8. Other than that, nothing severe.

Hello,

Tablets like Excedrin contain paracetamol that causes gastritis. Additionally, sodas are heavy on citric acid that also increases the acid content in the stomach. I would think that this caused you to have the vomiting. Additionally bad headaches or migraines can also cause nausea and vomiting. While I don't think you need to be worried about an overdose, I would advise that you keep at least a 6 hour gap between two doses of Excedrin.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
