What Causes Visual Hallucinations In An Elderly Person?
My dad called me to tell me he had 4 people in his livingroom for the past 4 days who won t leave. I told him to call the cops. He said he can t because HE will be the one taken away because he knows the people aren t real. I almost fell over because my dad is in good health with zero history of drug use or mental illness. Everything is perfectly normal as long as he stays out of the livingroom, that s the only place he sees them. What could cause these sudden, contained visions with no other symptoms? And he is not psychotic because he is aware that the people aren t real. Please help, it s scarey!
Hi, Welcome to Healthcare Magic Forum. I really appreciate your concern about the problem you are facing.
I strongly recommend that you schedule an appointment with a Psychiatrist for your father. At the given age of your father, there could be many reasons for Visual Hallucinations . A thorough psychoanalysis is required to get to the Pinpoint diagnosis of this condition.
Hope this will help you. Feel free to ask any further question. Have a nice Day.
Regards, Dr.Abhijeet
